Stop Lying about what happened on January 6. We are calling on the White House to:
- Immediately remove or revise all false and misleading claims on the official January 6 webpage
- Publicly acknowledge the harm done to law enforcement and American institutions that day
- Commit to preserving accurate historical records through the National Archives and Library of Congress.
This is not about partisanship. Americans across the political spectrum watched the attack unfold in real time. We saw the windows smashed, the officers beaten, the chants calling for lawmakers’ executions. We don’t need the government to tell us it didn’t happen.
This is real harm to our democracy and truth telling. History matters. Truth matters. And the U.S. government should not be in the business of rewriting reality to protect the powerful.
